[origin: WO2018122314A1] A table column (2) for an operating table, comprising a column foot (4) for binding the table column to a floor, a height-adjustable column head support (6) for supporting the column head, a lifting drive (7) for adjusting the height of the column head support in relation to the column foot, and a cylindrical main guide (10) which connects the column head support (6) to the column foot (4) and which serves for the vertical guiding of the column head support (6) during the height adjustment of the latter. An additional stabilizing guide (20), which likewise connects the column head support (6) to the column foot (4) and serves for the vertical guiding of the column head support during the height adjustment of the latter, reduces rotational play in the main guide (10).
