[origin: WO2018127439A1] The invention relates to a crane with a boom (3) which is mounted on the crane structure (1) in a rotatable manner about a bearing point (2), a counterweight assembly (4) which can be positioned in a variable manner relative to the bearing point (2), and a hoisting cable (6) which starts from a hoisting winch (5) and is guided via the boom (3). The crane additionally comprises a counterweight adjusting device (7) which is coupled to the counterweight assembly (4) for variably positioning the counterweight assembly (4) depending on the hoisting cable load, comprising the following: - a lifting element (9) which is rotatably mounted about a rotational point (8) arranged on the crane structure (1) rearwards towards the boom (3), - a hoisting cable guide (11) which is arranged in the course of the hoisting cable (6) between the hoisting winch (5) and an upper boom section (10) and which comprises a first deflection roller assembly (12) mounted on the boom (3) and a second deflection roller assembly (13) mounted on the lifting element (9), said hoisting cable (6) being guided in an alternating manner via the first and the second deflection roller assembly (12, 13), and - a coupling element (14) which engages the lifting element (9) and is connected to the counterweight assembly (4).
