Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2018130280A1] A method for fault handling in direct current, DC, power transmission between a first alternating current, AC, system and a second AC system is provided. The method includes detecting an occurrence of a phase-to-ground fault on an AC side of a voltage-source converter, VSC, connected to the second AC system and operated as an inverter. The method further includes, upon detecting the occurrence of the phase-to-ground fault, firing a bypass valve pair of a current-source converter, CSC, connected to the first AC system and operated as a rectifier. A power transmission system is also provided.
