Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2018134063A1] The invention relates to the mechanical and the hydraulic autofrettage of workpieces, and provides a technical solution for a combination of said two methods. The invention relates to a method for the autofrettage of a workpiece (1), wherein the workpiece is arranged between a first securing means (2.2; 13) and a second securing means (2.1; 12), wherein high-pressure fluid (HF) is applied to an internal volume (Vi), formed between the securing means, of the workpiece, wherein a ram (11) is driven into the internal volume through an inlet (13.1) in the first securing means (13), and wherein, as a result of the ram being advanced, not only is a fluid pressure generated in the internal volume (Vi) but also the workpiece (1) is mechanically autofrettaged by means of the ram. Furthermore, the invention relates to a device for the hydromechanical autofrettage of a workpiece.
