[origin: WO2018134535A1] The invention concerns a driver assistance system (100) for a rail vehicle travelling in a rail network, comprising means for determining the position (102, 104, 117) of said vehicle in said rail network, and a map (106) of said rail network storing at least one position, referred to as a beacon position, of at least one signalling beacon in said rail network, and at least one piece of signalling data relative to said rail network, associated with said at least one signalling beacon, intended to be communicated to a rail vehicle. Said system also comprises a processing module (108) suitable for determining a driving action depending on the position of the vehicle and said map (106), said system further comprising a connection interface (116) allowing it to be removably connected to a so-called rail vehicle such that it is interchangeable from one vehicle to another.
