[origin: WO2019223991A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a product made of a flexibly rolled metal strip material, having the steps of: supplying (S10) a flexibly rolled strip material (3); ascertaining (S20) a measurement thickness profile of the strip material over the length of the strip material and calculating a target cutting position (P30) for a blank (4) to be produced from the strip material; separating (S30) a blank (4) from the strip material (3) in the target cutting position; rotating (S40) the blank (4) on the basis of the ascertained measurement thickness profile such that the thickness profile of the blank (4) is aligned in a defined machining position (P50) that differs from the target cutting position; and machining (S50) the blank (4) in the machining position (S50) using a machining unit (50), wherein the blank (4) is machined into a product (5). The invention additionally relates to a system for producing a product.
