A manway sliding gate assembly comprising a gate couplable to a tank, a frame disposed around the gate a locking member that engages the frame around the gate when in a locked position, and an aperture located in the frame collinearly with the locking member, wherein the locking member removably engages the frame within the aperture to apply a biasing force to the gate.
