Ein Wäschebehandlungsgerät weist ein Maschinengehäuse (10) mit einer Ladeöffnung (22), eine Tür (24) zum Verschließen der Ladeöffnung (22), einen im Maschinengehäuse (10) angeordneten Laugenbehälter (12) und eine im Laugenbehälter (12) angeordnete und um eine Drehachse (18) drehbar gelagerte Wäschetrommel auf. Das Wäschebehandlungsgerät der Erfindung hat ferner eine Sensorik mit mehreren Elektroden (30, 32, 34), die paarweise wenigstens einen kapazitiven Sensor bilden, und eine Steuereinrichtung (27) zum Ermitteln wenigstens eines Betriebsparameters des Wäschebehandlungsgeräts aus einem Kapazitätswert und/oder einem zeitlichen Verhalten eines Kapazitätswerts wenigstens eines kapazitiven Sensors der Sensorik.
