[origin: WO2018138013A1] Method for purifying exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine (2) having at least one combustion chamber (3), comprising at least the following method steps: a) burning of fuel with a first air quantity in the at least one combustion chamber (3), b) conducting of the exhaust gas to at least one catalytic converter (8), c) introducing of an additional air quantity via at least one of the combustion chambers (3) to the at least one catalytic converter (8), and d) converting of pollutants in the exhaust gas by way of chemical reactions of the exhaust gas at least with the additional air quantity in the at least one catalytic converter.
