[origin: WO2018138331A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for selecting a medical accessory for treating a patient. The method has at least the following steps: in a first step, a patient identification which characterizes the patient to be treated is received; in a second step, a treatment identification of the treatment to be carried out is determined which characterizes the treatment of the patient to be carried out; in a third step, an accessory database which has data sets pertaining to at least two medical accessories for one or more treatments of patients is compared with an actual inventory of stored medical accessories; in a fourth step, a medical accessory which is suitable for the treatment of the patient to be carried out is selected by means of the accessory database and on the basis of at least the patient identification, the treatment identification, and the actual inventory; and in a fifth step, the selected medical accessory is sorted out.
