[origin: WO2018141558A1] The invention relates to an apparatus (1, 1') for filling liquid or pourable contents (3) into packages (7), comprising: a tank (2) for the contents to be filled (3); a filling device (4) having a filling valve (5), wherein the filling valve (5) has a variable flow cross-section (S5) and can be adjusted between an open position and a completely closed position; a line (8), which connects the tank (2) to the filling device (4); a butterfly valve (10), which is disposed in the line (8) between the tank (2) and the filling device (4), the butterfly valve (10) having a variable flow cross section (S10) and being adjustable between a first open position and a second open position; and a control device (12) for controlling the filling valve (5) and the throttle valve (10). According to the invention, to optimize the characteristics of the filling jet, the control device (12) and/or the throttle valve (10) are designed in such a way that the throttle valve (10) is continually at least partially open throughout the entire filling period (tF). The invention also relates to a method for filling liquid or pourable contents (3) into packages (7).
