[origin: WO2018162198A1] The invention relates to a method (1) and a system for determining the expected useful life (14) of electrical apparatus (21, 22, 23, 24) in relation to a reference point in time (7). Acording to said method (1), an ageing model (2) is provided, which describes the ageing behaviour of the apparatus (21, 22, 23, 24). In addition, a value (3) of at least one electrical operating parameter of the apparatus (21, 22, 23, 24) is detected during the operation of the apparatus (21, 22, 23, 24). Furthermore, the ageing model (2) is adapted according to the detected value (3) and the expected useful life (14) of the apparatus (21, 22, 23, 24) is determined on the basis of the adapted ageing model.
