[origin: WO2018146224A1] A method and an extrusion installation (2) are provided, for producing a blank (10) from a ceramic mass with a prescribed first diameter (D1). The extrusion installation (2) has at the end a mouthpiece (8) with an outlet diameter (D2), which is smaller than the first diameter (D1). The ceramic mass is pressed against a movable blank table (14), wherein a counterpressure is produced by means of the blank table (14) on the ceramic mass leaving the mouthpiece (8) in such a way that it is widened to the first diameter (D1) to form the blank (10).
