[origin: WO2018149443A1] The invention relates to motor vehicle door lock, comprising a locking mechanism (1), which essentially consists of a rotary latch and a pawl, and further comprising an actuation lever mechanism (2, 3, 4, 5) acting on the locking mechanism (1), and an inertia element (6). Said inertia element (6), during normal operation, follows a movement of the actuation lever mechanism (2, 3, 4, 5). At high accelerations, for example in the event of a crash, the inertia element (6) blocks the actuation lever mechanism (2, 3, 4, 5) acting on the locking mechanism (1). According to the invention, an elastic damping element (14, 15, 16) is connected to the actuation lever mechanism (2, 3, 4, 5) . Said damping element (14, 15, 16) abuts the inertia element (6) at least in the event of a crash for the purpose of damping vibrations.
