[origin: WO2018149621A1] A silencer (10) for a handgun, in particular a pistol, is provided, wherein the silencer has a fastening adapter (30) and a silencer housing (20), wherein - the fastening adapter (30) - has a fastening rail (35) with two longitudinal guides (35a) which are arranged parallel to one another for fastening the fastening adapter to a mounting rail of the handgun, and - a fastening plate (31) which is arranged substantially perpendicularly with respect to the longitudinal axis (LAB) of the longitudinal guides (35a) at the front end (VE), - the silencer housing (20) is fastened to the fastening plate (31) in a preferably releasable manner, - a shot channel (25) is configured in the silencer housing (20), and - the longitudinal axis (LAS) of the shot channel (25) is inclined by an angle (α) of between 0.2° and 1.4° with respect to the longitudinal axis (LAB) of the longitudinal guides (35a) of the fastening rail (35) in the fastened state of the silencer housing (20) on the fastening plate (31). Furthermore, a handgun, in particular a pistol, having a silencer (10) according to the invention is provided by way of the invention.
