Abstract (en)
The invention provides a printer and a method for removing a belt from a printer. The printer comprises: an endless belt (10) configured to transport sheets of a printable medium; a belt unit (20) comprising rollers for carrying, guiding and moving the belt (10), wherein the rollers (21-24) are arranged in parallel to each other; a first support structure (31) arranged at a first end of the rollers (21-24), wherein the belt unit (20) is supported in part by the first support structure (31); a removable second support structure (32) arranged at a second end of the rollers (21-24); wherein the removable second support structure (32) is removable to allow extracting the belt (10) from the belt unit (20) and wherein the belt unit (20)is supported in part by the second support structure (32) when the second support structure (32) is not removed; and a electromagnetic supporting structure (41, 42) that is activatable to support the belt unit (20) using a electromagnetic field (50) at the second end of the rollers.
