Abstract (en)
A fluid pressure actuator (1) comprises axially opposed first and second pistons (30, 20) slidably arranged in a common casing (10). A first component (100) is fixed to or part of the casing (10) while a second component (200) is fixed to or part of the second piston (20). The first piston (30) is fixed to a support (2). The actuator is operable to restrain either of the first and second components in a fixed position while moving the other independently and relative to the support.
