[origin: WO2018171910A1] The invention relates to an artificial turf (140) comprising: - a layer (132) of artificial turf fibers (130), the layer having an upper side (US) and a lower side (LS), wherein first portions of the artificial turf fibers protrude from the upper side and second portions of the artificial turf fibers protruding from the lower side, the first portions forming artificial grass blades (130); - a backing on the lower side of the layer, the backing being a solidified, inhomogeneous latex mixture of a first latex (602, 706) and a second latex (604, 708), the first latex in the dry state being less water-swellable than the second latex in the dry state, the backing contacting at least the second portions and mechanically fixing the artificial turf fibers in the layer.
