[origin: EP3587682A1] The invention relates to an alcove (1) for mounting in an opening in a wall, which alcove comprises a rear wall (2) and mutually connecting side walls (3, 4, 5, 6) standing upright along the peripheral edge of the rear wall (2), wherein the free ends of the side walls (3, 4, 5, 6) enclose an access opening of the alcove,a finishing element (7, 8) arranged around the access opening and the side walls (3, 4, 5, 6) of the alcove, wherein arranged in a first surface of the finishing element /7, 8) is a finishing element opening and a continuous hole extending therefrom,wherein the finishing element opening is congruent with the access opening of the alcove, wherein the first surface lies against the free ends of the side walls (3, 4, 5, 6), wherein the access opening and the finishing element opening connect to each other, and wherein the finishing element (7, 8) has at least a second surface which lies against at least an outer side of the upright side walls.
