[origin: GB2560179A] A kite having multiple sections 801,802 for use in a power-generation system, the kite comprising a top panel 105 and a bottom panel 106, and at least one rib connection piece 203, 200a, 200b, 200c extending between the top panel at a first end and the bottom panel at the second end and which terminates at both the first and second ends end with a respective attachment portion arranged to extend in a plane that is coplanar with respect to the top panel and/or bottom panel and to be attached thereto. The panels may be formed of laminated materials, they may also be formed of composite materials, further they may be constructed with more layers in areas which will experience high loads. There may be bridle pieces 224 extending diagonally between the top and bottom panels in each section. The laminate layers may be arranged in specific orientations to improve characteristics of the final panels.
