The floor cleaning device (10) comprises a cleaning unit (32) comprising a cleaning roller (36) for wet cleaning a floor surface (12), and a dirt reservoir (62) for dirt collected by the cleaning roller (36). The cleaning roller (36) guides dirt in the overthrow sweeping mode into dirt reservoir (62) arranged behind the cleaning roller (36) with respect to the main direction of movement (26) of the floor cleaning device (10), and the cleaning unit (32) comprises a brush roller (34) upstream of the cleaning roller (36) for brushing away dirt from the floor surface (12).
