[origin: WO2018162606A1] What is described is a shading device (1) having at least one awning (2) and having at least one winding device (3) which is provided for winding and unwinding the awning (2) and which has a cord (7) which is braced along a side (9.1) or a diagonal (9.2) of the awning (2), which cord (7) is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the awning (2) which can be wound and unwound thereon. In order to design this shading device (1) to be particularly stable, it is proposed that the cord (7) is designed in a torsionally rigid or low-torsion manner and is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the awning (2) over the entire length (L) of the side (9.1) or diagonal (9.2) of the awning (2).
