[origin: WO2018162169A1] The invention relates to a ball joint comprising a housing surrounding a housing opening, with which a central axis extending in an axial direction (z) and through the housing opening is associated, a ball journal comprising a joint ball, which is mounted in the housing such that it moves with the joint ball thereof and extends out of said housing through the housing opening, and a sealing ring (13) securely arranged in the housing, surrounding the central axis and supporting the joint ball in the axial direction, said sealing ring defining a sealing ring opening (25) through which the ball journal extends, the sealing ring opening being wider in a longitudinal direction (x) extending transversely to the central axis than in a transverse direction (y) extending transversely to the central axis and to the longitudinal direction.
