The method comprises the steps: - receiving user input entered using an actuation device (5) of a user terminal (3); in response thereto - sending a wireless message, - assigning the means of transport (10) to the user terminal (3) in response to the receipt of the wireless message; - determining - an expected arrival time and/or - interval until the arrival of the means of transport (10) at the user terminal (3), and - displaying a waiting time determined on the basis of the arrival time or interval by means of - a number of luminescent light means (6) predefined for the display of the waiting time and/or - a number, per time unit, of light means (6) to be activated or deactivated, and/or - a position of a luminescent light means (6) of the user terminal (3).
