[origin: WO2018162963A1] The present disclosure provides an apparatus for detecting fire and preventing explosion of a transformer. The apparatus comprises at least one voltage variation detection unit and an over current detection unit for providing first and second input signal to at least one control unit. Also, at least one surge detection unit and at least one Rapid Pressure Rise Relay is provisioned in the apparatus, to provide a third input signal the control unit. One or more circuit breakers is configured to provide a fourth input signal to the control unit. The at least one control unit receives either one of the first input signal, the second input signal, the third input signal and the fourth input signal, thereby generating a control signal for operating a drain valve and a gas release valve.
