Abstract (en)
A diving mask system (100, 200, 300) is disclosed comprising a faceplate (10, 110) having a lateral partition (20, 120) on an interior surface delineating an upper and lower section, the lower section comprising a region that extends away from the upper section and includes at least one cutout section fitted with a complementary-shaped flexible insert (8, 108) that enables a user to grasp the nose. The faceplate further includes a flexible tubular insert (109) defining a passageway (190) extending through the faceplate (10, 110) to a lower chamber. The tubular insert (109) has a distal end (192) dimensioned to fit and seal onto the mouthpiece receiver tube (185) of a conventional second stage scuba regulator (84, 184) permitting the mask (100, 200, 300) to be scuba enabled. A quick-release clasp mechanism (172) attached to the mask's elastic retention straps (170) is also disclosed.
