[origin: WO2018166936A1] A composition containing at least one of a nutrient or a medication can be administered to a patient through an enteral feeding tube, and the same enteral feeding tube can be used for active aspiration such as gastric fluid drainage. In an aspect, the gastric fluid can be aspirated with syringe, then a valve can be switched to empty the syringe into a container fluidly attached to the syringe, and after aspiration and collection of the gastric fluid are completed, the container can be discharged (e.g., thrown away) and/or the gastric fluid can be returned to the stomach.
