[origin: WO2018166857A1] In order to provide an oil pan, comprising a bottom wall and a lateral outer wall which, in the mounted state of the oil pan in the direction of gravity, extends upwards from the bottom wall, and an oil storage region which is arranged in an interior of the oil pan and is filled with oil to a storage level during operation of the oil pan, which oil pan has improved heat and flame resistance, it is proposed that the oil pan comprises an oil-cooling region which is adjacent to the lateral outer wall and is filled with oil up to a cooling level, and a decoupling device for decoupling the cooling level of the oil in the oil-cooling region from the storage level of the oil in the oil storage region in a cooling state of the oil pan.
