[origin: WO2018166648A1] A plate-type heat exchanger (1) is formed from heat exchanger plates (2) arranged one above the other and/or adjacent to one another, which heat exchanger plates form mutually separate flow channels (3, 6) for a first fluid and for a second fluid and through which heat exchanger plates thermal energy can be exchanged between the two fluids. In order for the structural space available for a plate-type heat exchanger (1) of said type to be optimally utilized for the exchange of heat between the two fluids, it is proposed according to the invention that the dimensions of the heat exchanger plates (2) can be configured so as to approximately or exactly correspond to the dimensions of the total structural space provided for the plate-type heat exchanger (1).
