Abstract (en)

A refrigeration cycle apparatus (1) includes a gas leakage sensor (4A, 4B) and a control device (300). When refrigerant leakage is detected by the gas leakage sensor (4A, 4B), the control device (300) performs a first mode operation to operate a compressor (10) in such a state that a four-way valve (100) is set to a cooling operation state, an expansion valve (111A, 111B) is opened, and a first shutoff valve (101) is closed. After performing the first mode operation, the control device (300) performs a second mode operation to operate the compressor (10) in such a state that the four-way valve (100) is set to a heating operation state and the first shutoff valve (101) is closed.
