[origin: WO2018177827A1] The present invention describes a mill stand provided with a pair of upper and lower working rolls (CTS, CTI), a pair of upper and lower intermediate rolls (CTS, CTI) and equipped with a device for controlling rolling stability by positioning the working rolls for the rolling of a moving metal product (PM) comprising: - said upper and lower working rolls (CTS, CTI) each acting on one of two faces of a metal product moving along a longitudinal axis (X), - longitudinal movement means (MDS1, MDS2, MDI1, MDI2) for moving said working rolls relative to a vertical axis (Z) that passes through at least one of the intermediate rolls transmitting a rolling force, by direct contact, onto at least one of the working rolls, the longitudinal axis (X) and the vertical axis (Z) defining an intersection at a point of origin (O) relative to which the working rolls are situated laterally at an offset distance; - measuring means (MMS1, MMS2, MMI1, MMI2) for measuring at least one measured parameter (P), said measured parameter being transmitted to a control unit (UC) supplying a control signal (Ssup1, Sinf1, Ssup2, Sinf2) to the longitudinal movement means, characterised in that: - the measured parameter is related to a discrepancy in the physical state of at least one of the working rolls relative to a previous physical state; - the measured parameter comprises at least one longitudinal component value of at least one of the forces (FSup, Finf) applied by each working roll to the active measuring means coupled to the movement means actually in contact with and under load with said working roll, - the upper and lower longitudinal movement means can be actuated individually in order to reposition the upper and lower working rolls according to individual offsets depending on the control signal.
