Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2018178186A1] The invention relates to a method for producing a jointed connection by shaping of at least two components (2, 24, 25, 31, 32) or of a component with an auxiliary joining part (1, 33) or a functional element, wherein an auxiliary joining part (1, 33) and/or a component material of one or more of the components (2, 24, 25, 31, 32) is shaped by means of a constant action of force of a setting device (10, 26, 29, 34, 37), wherein the exerted force and the setting path are detected during the setting operation. The method is characterized in that repeatedly differential quotients are formed from a difference of successively applied forces F and a difference of traveled setting paths and are compared with at least one reference value, and that the setting operation is terminated in the region of an increase of the process force as soon as the differential quotient reaches or exceeds a predetermined reference value.
