[origin: WO2018172387A1] The invention relates to an electric heater, in particular an auxiliary heater, for a motor vehicle, comprising a volume (11) for accepting and conducting a liquid, especially water, therethrough, a liquid inlet (19) and a liquid outlet (20) such that liquid can flow into the volume (11) via the liquid inlet (19) and flow out of the volume (11) via the liquid outlet (20); at least one heating element (12), in particular a heating resistor, is placed in the volume (11), and at least one deflection device (14), in particular at least one partition, is provided such that liquid flowing from the liquid inlet (19) to the liquid outlet (10) is diverted, thereby increasing the length of a flow path.
