[origin: WO2018184974A1] The invention relates inter alia to a method for cutting a workpiece (2), in particular a blank or a component to be cut to size, comprising the steps: inserting the workpiece (2) to be cut into a first cutting device, said cutting device comprising: a first tool half (4) which has at least one first tool holder (8), a least one second tool holder (10) and at least one first cutting means (12); and a second tool half (6) which has at least one first contact surface (14), at least one second contact surface (16), at least one second cutting means (18), at least one third cutting means (20), and a gap (22) between the second (18) and the third cutting means (20); clamping the workpiece (2) by means of the tool holders (6, 8), placing the first cutting means (12) on the workpiece (2), and cutting the workpiece (2) by means of the cutting means (12, 18, 20). The first cutting means (12), the front of which facing the workpiece (2) has two blades, thereby produces a double cut during the cutting process. The invention further relates to a device for cutting a workpiece (2).
