[origin: WO2018193149A1] The propulsion unit comprises a support frame (20), a nozzle (60) attached to the support frame, a propeller (40) within the nozzle, the propeller having an axis (X-X) of rotation and comprising propeller blades (41-44), and a support construction (50) on either axial side of the propeller, the support construction comprising vanes (51-57) extending inwards in a duct (65) formed by the nozzle. A minimum axial distance (A5) between the blades of the propeller and the vanes of the support construction is in the range of 0.5 to 10% of a diameter of the propeller.
