Abstract (en)

A system 10 for imaging is provided. The system 10 includes an x-ray source 14, a detector 16, and a controller 18. The x-ray source 14 is operative to transmit x-rays 20 through a subject 12 while the x-ray source 14 continuously travels along a path 22 defined by a sweep angle. The detector 16 is operative to receive the x-rays 20 after having passed through the subject 12. The controller 18 is operative to: acquire preliminary data 56 regarding the subject 12 via the x-ray source 14 and the detector 16; determine at least one acquisition parameter 60 from the preliminary data 56; and acquire one or more projections 64 of the subject 12 via the x-ray source 14 and the x-ray detector 16 based at least in part on the acquisition parameter 60.
