[origin: WO2019012054A1] The invention relates to a cross cutter (1) for cutting, perforating and/or cross-cutting a moving material web made preferably of paper, board, plastic, composite material and/or metal, having a knife shaft (2) that is rotatable about an axis of rotation (4) extending transversely to the material web and the conveying direction (3) thereof, wherein the knife shaft (2) has at least one revolving knife (5) extending in an axial direction, and having a stationary knife carrier (8), wherein the stationary knife carrier (8) has a stationary knife (9) extending substantially in the direction of the revolving knife (5) transversely to the material web and cooperating with the revolving knife (5) in a cutting zone for cutting. According to the invention, at least one setting means for setting at least two different positions of the axis of rotation (4) of the knife shaft (2) in and/or counter to the conveying direction (3) of the material web and/or perpendicularly to the conveying plane of the material web is provided.
