[origin: WO2018202391A1] A fibre opening machine (10) has an operating section (12, 13) which is designed to liberate fibre material from fibre bales and to convey it out of the fibre opening machine (10). It also has or is coupled to a controller. It also has a display section (1). The latter has a plurality of light-emitting elements. The controller is set up to control the operating section (12, 13) as per predetermined operating parameters defined for operation of the fibre opening machine (10) and to control the light-emitting elements as per a predetermined lighting scenario such that the light-emitting elements depict: - a state in the fibre opening machine (10) and/or a downstream machine in the production line, - position information relating to the cutting head of the fibre opening machine (10) with regard to fibre bales to be stripped, - a height profile line of a series of fibre bales to be stripped, - obstacles in the travel path of the cutting head, - the presence of a predetermined operating process, - evaluation results of the operation of the fibre opening machine (10) and/or - an operating parameter of the fibre opening machine (10). An arrangement has at least two machines. One is in the form of a fibre opening machine (10). The other is a spinning preparation machine having a display section. Both are arranged such that the display sections (1) thereof are oriented such that the light-emitting elements thereof emit their light such that the display sections (1) are perceivable at the same time from at least one position with regard to the machines (10).
