Abstract (en)
[origin: EP3626098A1] Modular personal protection device (PPE) designed to protect the face, including eventually its side parts, ears, throat and eyes from the impact with bodies having energy and dimension greater than those tolerable by traditional PPE or from the impact of smaller energy/size bodies and from optical, thermal and chemical risks. The device includes- a three-dimensional element consisting of meshes (1, 2) having sides/dimensions of length greater than or equal to 0.5cm, minimum surface area of 0.25cm2and maximum density of 4 meshes/cm2equipped with padding (4), intended for impact protection with bodies having a certain energy and size, typically greater than 0.5cm;- eventually transparent screens and/or dense mesh grids, to extend the protection, if necessary, even with respect to bodies of smaller dimensions and chemical, thermal and optical risks;- sufficiently large dimensions so as to allow the protection also of the lateral parts, of the throat, of the ears and of the eyes, or smaller dimensions if the areas to be protected are smaller;- wide device configuration so as to allow the use of devices such as glasses, filtered masks, headphones, etc. at the same time;- automatic opening/closing device.
