Die Erfindung betrifft einen Servicewagen (1) zum selbsttätigen Versorgen von Spinnstellen einer Spinnmaschine zum Herstellen von Fadenspulen aufweisend eine Hilfsfadenspule (2) mit einem Hilfsfaden (3) zum Anspinnen nach einem Wechsel der Fadenspule sowie eine Hilfsfadenführung (4) zum Zuführen des Hilfsfadens (3) zur Spinnstelle der Spinnmaschine. Um einen Servicewagen (1) und ein Verfahren bereitzustellen, mittels denen die Anzahl und Dauer von Betriebsunterbrechungen der Spinnmaschine aufgrund einer leeren Hilfsfadenspule (2) des Servicewagens verringert werden kann, ist vorgesehen, dass wenigstens ein Sensor (5) zum Erfassen des Zustandes der Hilfsfadenspule (2) an dem Servicewagen (1) angeordnet ist, um zwischen den Zuständen einer leeren Hilfsfadenspule (2) und einer Hilfsfaden (3) aufweisenden Hilfsfadenspule (2) unterscheiden zu können.
