[origin: WO2018219516A1] The invention relates to a method for treating a Yankee cylinder, wherein the Yankee cylinder has a cylinder casing made of steel having a ferritic-pearlitic structure (steels made of ASME SA516, ASME SA36 and AD2000 WI steels 2.1 to 2.4). According to the invention, the outer surface of the cylinder casing is heat-treated using a laser beam and thereby cured.
