[origin: WO2018224248A1] The invention relates to a floating bearing for a steering gear of a motor vehicle, comprising a rotary bearing (10) having an inner bearing ring (11) for receiving a screw pinion shaft (4) of the steering gear, and an outer bearing ring (12) built into a bearing sleeve (26). Furthermore, the bearing sleeve (26) interacts with a guiding element (29) and the guiding element (29) with a holding element (32) provided for fixed integration into a housing (1) of the steering gear, in such a way that the bearing sleeve (26) can be moved in relation to the holding element (32), in a first direction oriented radially to the longitudinal axis (25) of the bearing sleeve (26), when the screw pinion shaft (4) is not loaded with torque, whereas such a relative movement is prevented when the screw pinion shaft (4) is loaded with torque, by moving the bearing sleeve (26) in relation to the holding element (32), in a second direction that is likewise oriented radially to the longitudinal axis (26) of the bearing sleeve and also perpendicularly to the first direction, whereby the guiding element (29) is tilted in a guiding opening (33) of the holding element (32) or the bearing sleeve (26).
