[origin: WO2018224294A1] The invention relates to an adapter (3) for installation of a holding element (5) of a door or window handle (2), which holding element can be secured by positive locking in a receiving opening (8) of a window frame (1), a door leaf, or the like, comprising a casing (31), a base (36) extending from an inner face of the casing (31) and having a polygonal receptacle (34) and at least two holes (33), said casing (31) having at least one cutout (32) to receive a clamping element (54) which is movable radially out of a basic body (51) of the holding element (5). The invention further relates to an arrangement of a door or window handle in a receiving opening of a window frame, door leaf or the like.
