[origin: WO2018234912A1] The invention relates to a compression device, comprising two suction drums (17), wherein one suction drum (17) can be assigned to a output roll pair (7, 8) of a drafting unit (2) of a spinning machine, wherein the output roll pair (7, 8) consists of an output lower roll (7) and an output upper roll (8), wherein the suction drums (17) are mounted for rotation, by means of a bearing, on a shaft fastened to a support element, wherein a suction duct (31) runs inside the support element and wherein the suction drums (31) each have a drive element (40) which forms a drive connection with the output lower roll (7) in the operating position. The invention is characterized in that a protective guard (42) is arranged on the axle for the nip rolls (18) to prevent the formation of winding. The invention further relates to a protective guard (42) and a corresponding textile machine.
