Abstract (en)

[origin: EP3643690A1] Provided is an optical glass that has a high refractive index and a good light transmittance, exhibits high solubility during continuous melting, and has good manufacturing properties. This optical glass has a refractive index (nd) of 1.64 or more, a P value within the range of 7.0 <P value<10.0, and 91% or greater internal transmittance converted to 10 mm thickness at all of the following wavelengths: 450 nm, 550 nm, 650 nm, and 750 nm. The P value is represented by formula (1): P value = log(A450×P450+A550×P550+A650×P650+A750×P750) wherein A450, A550, A650and A750are absorbances of the optical glass at wavelengths of 450 nm, 550 nm, 650 nm, and 750 nm when the thickness is 10 mm, and P450, P550, P650and P750are radiances determined according to Planck's radiation law at wavelengths of 450 nm, 550 nm, 650 nm, and 750 nm.
