Die vorliegende Erfindung stellt ein Verfahren zum Befüllen von Behältern (140) mit einer unter erhöhtem Druck stehenden Flüssigkeit zur Verfügung, wobei vor Beginn des Füllvorgangs ein im Wesentlichen gasdichter Kontakt zwischen einer Behälteröffnung (145) eines zu befüllenden Behälters (140) und einer Auslassöffnung (230) eines Füllelements (200) hergestellt wird, der vor dem endgültigen Trennen der Behälteröffnung (145) von der Auslassöffnung (230) nach Abschluss des Füllvorgangs wenigstens einmal vorübergehend aufgehoben wird, um eine zumindest teilweise Entlastung des befüllten Behälters zu bewirken.
