Abstract (en)
The invention provides a detergent composition for the non-oxidative laundering of fabric stains, the composition comprising:(a) from 1 to 10% (by weight based on the total weight of the composition) of one or more 1-hydroxy-1,1-bisphosphonates of formula (I):in which R<sub>1</sub>, R<sub>2</sub>and R<sub>3</sub>are each independently selected from hydrogen or an ammonium or alkali metal (preferably sodium or potassium) cation, and A is selected from aliphatic hydrocarbyl groups having 4 to 22 carbon atoms; and(b) from 3 to 80% (by weight based on the total weight of the composition) of one or more detersive surfactants.The invention also provides a method for the non-oxidative laundering of fabric stains, comprising diluting a dose of the detergent composition defined above to obtain a wash liquor, and washing the stained fabric with the wash liquor so formed.
