[origin: WO2019011513A1] The invention relates to a foam generator (1), more particularly for a vehicle treatment device, having a foam generation chamber (2), which is filled with a packing (3) consisting of loose particles, which packing allows fluid through. The foam generation chamber also has at least one inlet (5, 6) for supplying a liquid and a gas, and an outlet (7) for carrying off the foam generated in the foam generation chamber. According to the invention, the foam generation chamber (2) is subdivided by a fluid-permeable first retaining means (4) into an upstream first chamber portion (2a) and a downstream second chamber portion (2b) filled with the packing (3), wherein the first retaining means (4) prevents the packing (3) from reaching the upstream first chamber portion (2a).
