Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2019042843A1] The invention relates to a method and a device for testing whether there is contact between a current collector (2) and a contact wire (10) of an overhead line (8), the current collector (2) being located on a motor vehicle (1) driven by an electric motor, and the contact wire (10) extending in a direction of travel (F), wherein the current collector (2) has two contact regions (16) oriented transversely to the direction of travel (F) which are arranged one behind the other in the direction of travel (F) and on each of which an end contact element (20) is located. A pair of end contact elements (20) located on the same side is connected to a measuring device (22) and an electrical state variable is detected by means of the measuring device (22). Subsequently, it is determined in accordance with the detected state variable whether the pair of end contact elements (20) is in contact with with the overhead line (8).
