Abstract (en)

[origin: US2019073347A1] A note-taking application may be provided as a unified package that includes a full application for an unlocked state of the device, and a limited application for a locked state of the device. A user may perform a trigger action, such as swiping down from a corner, when the device is in a standby mode or displaying a lock screen. In response to the trigger action, the device may execute the limited application, allowing the user to write notes while the device remains in a locked state. The limited application accesses a sandboxed local note store with configurable note persistence, but can communicate with the full application by using secure API calls.
